School Statement
“At Doncaster Primary School we aim to achieve high levels of individual growth while utilising student data to inform teaching and learning. We enjoy supportive partnerships within DPS and beyond to enhance a strong culture of engagement and wellbeing to the benefit of student learning.”
Doncaster Primary is located on Council Street, Doncaster in the City of Manningham, situated on Doncaster Hill between the Manningham Offices and Westfield Doncaster. Significant building development completed in recent years has resulted in outstanding modernised facilities. The school has now been totally rebuilt in four stages.
The current enrolment of 550 students is representative of a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The school embraces an inclusive culture, and this is enhanced by the regular hosting of overseas students and enrolment of international fee-paying students.
We acknowledge the original custodians of the school on which our school stands the Wurundjeri people and pay respects to their people both past and present.
The school is structured in single year level classes. Specialist teaching areas include Visual Arts, Library, Cultural Studies, LOTE (Mandarin), Science and Physical Education. Programs are enhanced through the delivery of a wide range of support and enrichment programs including opportunities for students to develop leadership skills.
Doncaster Primary School enjoys an attractive, well-resourced environment conducive to best practice. Our staff are highly professional, committed, caring and effective which is evident in our data. We value and work closely with our parents and believe together we are better. We have high expectations of our students, staff and parents.
The school’s values, Determination, Pride and Success are at the centre of all the work within our learning community, ensuring a safe, orderly and inclusive environment for all students.
