LOTE
Our LOTE-Chinese program at Doncaster Primary School provides an engaging language and cultural experience for students from Prep to Year 6. Designed to immerse young learners in the vibrant heritage of China, the program emphasises language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin, alongside cultural understanding. Through interactive activities such as songs, stories, games, and online learning, students enjoy a dynamic learning environment.
Besides learning Chinese as an additional language, our program fosters an appreciation for Chinese culture, exploring customs, festivals, and history. Students participate in activities like Chinese New Year celebrations, calligraphy, and art workshops, which deepen their cultural knowledge. By blending language and cultural education DPS aims to broaden students’ perspectives and prepare them with valuable communication skills for an interconnected world.
