Doncaster Primary School continues to run a celebrated and comprehensive Visual Arts program which is a favourite amongst students, staff and parents alike.
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Edgar Degas
All students at Doncaster Primary School experience an hour each week in the art room with a specialist Visual Art teacher. Within Visual art, we are committed to art education enabling students to experience the creative process and develop their artistic skills. The program is in line with the Victorian Curriculum, encompassing two and three-dimensional art with the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media, materials and techniques. Students have a wide range of abilities and these are fostered in a caring, positive, creative learning environment. Students are explicitly taught how to use all materials so they can explore resources to make informed decisions when expressing themselves visually. The history of Art is embedded into the program by means of Artist studies and Cultural diversity enabling students to be motivated and inspire.
